Сырой модерн соул фанк от группы школьников Locke Saints Band. Треки вышли на частном двойном LP в 1979м году. Сейчас этот альбом очень редкий и считается “святым граалем” среди коллекционеров школьного фанка. В 2010м песни были переизданы ограниченным тиражем на сорокопятке.

School band funk from Watts – The Locke Saints Band, led by Reggie Andrews – raw soul and funky horns made by high school players! “Everlasting Love” is a loose take on the tune made famous by Rufus, with a bass groove way out front in the mix and brass that comes bursting in, raw drums and female lead vocals. “Let’s Ball Awhile” also has the female lead vocals and raw sound, but the tune’s in a more uptempo disco funk groove, with words by Langson Hughes. Similar to Kashmere Stage Band, there is an energy and mood to the music that is raw yet focused. Originally it was released in 1979 on private double LP album “Opus One” that is now very rare and decided to be the holy grail of School-Funk albums collecting. This 2 tracks was reissued by Family Groove records in 2010 on a very limited 45rpm single – 300 copies were made and it’s the only way to get this choons on the 45 – and now its long time sold out.
