A soaring, righteous groove from The Uptights – kind of a rougher take on more ebullient 60s soul styles of the time – with a nice edge on the vocals, a raw riffing guitar, and this cool crashing of horns and drums together as the tune rolls on! “That's What I Get” is a bit tighter and funkier – and really makes great use of the lead vocal to give the whole thing a crackling sort of charm!
Both Sides recordered in 1969. A-side previously unreleased.
